Pack 229 Leaders
All BSA adult leaders are required to attend training in youth protection and must pass a written exam. Additionally, all Pack 229 leaders must attend the Austin Diocese'sProtecting God's Children Workshop. Background checks are conducted on all leaders by both the Austin Diocese and the Boy Scouts of America.
By the time a Pack 229 leader puts on a uniform, they have completed 6 hours of youth protection and role-specific training. Many Pack 229 leaders continue their BSA education with additional instruction in advanced leadership, outdoor safety, and first-aid.
