FLAG PATROL
Each school day, St. Theresa School Scouts raise and lower the U.S. Flag. Participation is on a voluntary basis. For more information, check the FAQ.
As a Scouting unit and a ministry of St. Theresa's Catholic Church, we recognize that we are all called to a life of service. In an effort to fulfill that, the leaders of Pack 229 try to encourage the Scouts and parents to perform service projects throughout the year.
CUB SCOUT QUARTERS
This program is an outreach program, designed to assist those Packs that have less materially. Many Packs have difficulty running their program, pinewood derby, etc. due to the costs. We try and help alleviate that burden by direct donations from our Pack to theirs.
We ask that the boys themselves be the point of giving. Parents may allow their son to earn the quarters through chores or good deeds. The Cub Scout Quarters, will be available for donations, each den and pack meeting.
CUB SCOUT CLOTHES
Like Cub Scout Quarters, this program is in direct support of other Packs. The clothes collection helps uniform those packs where parents are unable to purchase them.
Clothes may include ANY part of the Cub Scout or Webelos uniform. All donations go a Packs in need. A box is available during Den and Pack meetings to place items.
FOS (FRIENDS OF SCOUTING)
This is a national, direct donation project which helps to fund Scouting nationally and locally. The money collected goes to help fund less financially capable units as well as, fund our own Council.
The Capital Area Council is responsible for all property management within the council area. These properties include Lost Pines and the newly constructed Cub World. Of the $3.7M budget for 2006, an estimated $920k comes from FOS. Pack 229 conducts an annual drive, in the Sprig, but you don't have to wait... Support FOS
CHRISTMAS CAROLING
Every Christmas, Pack 229 arrives at Heritage Duval Gardens nursing home, to deliver joy and song to the residents.
PARISH COFFEE & DONUTS
Several times a year, dens are asked to sever the coffee and donuts in the family center after Mass.
PARISH SERVICE
Throughout the year, Pack 229 dens take on their own service projects, usually smaller in scope to help the Parish. From year to year, those projects have changed, but typically include cleaning parish grounds and wooded areas, care and maintenance of outdoor items, etc..
