“Scouting for Food” is an annual community food drive that the greater Colorado council, BSA, coordinates on Saturday, November 11th, 2023.

Overview

Scouting for Food, the nation's largest food drive, has a rich history. It began as one Scout's service project in St. Louis in 1985 and was officially adopted by the National Organization in 1988. Today, Packs, Troops, and Crews all across America actively participate in this remarkable service project, collecting food to support those in need.

At Cub Scout Pack 229, we are proud to be a part of this meaningful initiative. Our Scouts make a significant impact on our local communities in Eagle, Gypsum, and throughout the Valley. We distribute outdoor hangers throughout neighborhoods, followed by collecting the generously donated food items, and then coming together as a pack to load all of the donations. The spirit of giving is at the heart of our efforts, and we are committed to making a difference in the lives of those less fortunate.
