Join us for our end-of-year campout at Sylvan Lake State Park! This weekend is packed with family, den, and pack activities. Whether you're staying for one night or the whole weekend, it is a great opportunity to slow down and enjoy the outdoors.
Friday Arrival: Families trickle in at their own pace
Saturday Adventures: Dive into den activities during the day and join the pack for collective fun in the afternoon and evening. Be sure to consult the agenda and your Den Leader for specific details.
Sunday Departure: Wakeup and depart the campsite by noon
Shortly after passing through Eagle Ranch you will loose Cell Phone service and thus you should plan accordingly. (e.g. Print or download anything you might need for Den / Pack activities)
Logistics
Weather - Plan for the Cold! Sylvan's higher elevation means chilly nights and potentially muddy or snowy conditions. Be prepared with extra clothing, as staying warm and dry is essential for comfort and safety.
Food + Meals: Families are responsible for their meals, except for Saturday morning when the Arrow of Light Den will provide breakfast for the pack. Some Dens and families may choose to a portion or all of their meals together.
Directions: Sylvan Lake State Park is located ~15 miles from Eagle, but will take ~35 minutes as Brush Creek Road turns into a dirt road shortly past the Visitors Center. After entering the park follow the signs for the Elk Run Campground -> Group Campsites. Google Map location here.
No Cell Phone Service: Shortly after passing through Eagle Ranch on Brush Creek road you will loose cell phone service. Please plan accordingly (e.g. Print or download anything you might need for Den / Pack activities).
Park Pass: All vehicles must have purchased the Keep Colorado Wild Pass with their vehicle registration or purchase a Park Pass at the visitors center and display it on the windshield. Group Camping fees are covered by the Pack.
Camping: Tent pitching is first-come, first-served. While keeping dens together is preferred, it's not mandatory.
Facilities: There are no electrical outlets at the group site, but outdoor grills and fire pits are available. Potable water sources are nearby, but bring extra drinking water. There are vault toilets near the campsite as well as showers and flush toilets located a short walk away in the camper services building.
Cleanliness: Bring trash bags to keep the area tidy and avoid attracting wildlife.
Fire Safety: Purchase firewood locally and follow safe burning practices.
Uniforms: Scouts should bring both their Class A and Class B uniforms.

FRIDAY EVENING - No planned pack activities
Camp site is open at 2:00. Parents and Cub Scouts are welcome to come and get set up with their tents and gear.
No planned activities for this evening unless your den has something organized. Everyone will be on their own for meals unless your Den organizes meals together.
Campfires allowed. Please bring your own wood that is locally sourced.

Den Meeting (Time set by each Den)
Scouts, parents, and Den leaders meet up to finish up any last requirements for their electives or adventures.
Lunch - With your family or Den
Den leaders to be explicit whether they are doing a group meal
Afternoon Activities
Den Activity and or Free time for the Scouts (play by the creek, lake, fishing, hikes, etc)
Parents are responsible for monitoring their kids
Award Ceremony + Arrow of Light Cross Over - Mid to Late Afternoon
Evening Activity
