“Scouting for Food” is an annual community food on Saturday, November 17th, 2024 that includes Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts.
Scouting for Food, the nation's largest food drive, has a rich history. It began as one Scout's service project in St. Louis in 1985 and was officially adopted by the National Organization in 1988. Today, Packs, Troops, and Crews all across America actively participate in this remarkable service project, collecting food to support those in need.
At Cub Scout Pack 229, we are proud to be a part of this meaningful initiative. Our Scouts make a significant impact on our local communities in Eagle, Gypsum, and throughout the Valley. We distribute outdoor hangers throughout neighborhoods, followed by collecting the generously donated food items, and then coming together as a pack to load all of the donations. The spirit of giving is at the heart of our efforts, and we are committed to making a difference in the lives of those less fortunate.
Den leaders will arrange distribution of Scouting for Food door hangers.
November 8th - November 10th: Scouts will go around to their designated neighborhoods passing outdoor hangers.
Saturday, November 16th: Scouts will collect food starting at 8:30AM.
Sunday, November 17th, 3:30pm - 3:45pm: Please bring all your donations to our Pack meeting at Calvary Christian. We will be loading up a trailer to deliver the donations to a local food bank.
Monday, November 18th, 8:45 am: Adult Volunteers needed to help unload donations at the Salvation Army in Avon.
